Trinseo is only 1/4 way through its production restructuring which was going to be completed by late 2024. It's quite stressed in its plastics divisions, and plans to close several European plants, & at least 1 in US. On top of that, it's facing SH class action & EPA investigation into waterway spills. Chapter 11 will give it room to hold off debt & class action while it restructures. Its a big group with some lazy legacy ex DOW subdivisions, and they have just revamped the executive team to accelerate the restructuring. They may however, be able to press for US concessions on the back of USA moves to lessen its exposure to Chinese supplies.

They are as likely to separate their energy focused production into a stand alone group, that's a wait & Watch. However, while its plastics divisions would be tightened up, their burgeoning energy focus would JIMHO be given more impetus.

Funnily enough TSE is becoming a recommended Buy from some analysts - Buffet not included ATM.
