Hi Swami,
The trade practices act would only come into play if they were marketing a product which was for sale or going on sale.
After reading about some of the big corporations whom ignore patent law because it is more beneficial to just face the music later I can now understand why they are not making a big song and dance about this yet. (As frustrating as that is!)
