The chinese work hard to reverse engineer anything they really want to get there hands on. And then when the original inventor asks questions, it goes before chinese courts which are a pale imitation of western courts. Rights of appeal and very complex apparently.
The whole culture in china around legal systems and respect for concepts around rights is very poor.
The political has control over the judiciary. People forget they are communist.
