Your beautifully poetic analogy, reminds me of the 1985 single from the album 'This is the sea' by pop-folk group The Waterboys:

I was grounded

During their encore at the State Theatre in 1986 where they gave a rousing version of this song, Uncle Wayne and I leapt on stage, dropped our dacks and showed the audience the whole of our moons. I was soundly beaten with a lute by the lead singer and then escorted from the venue.
