Having been involved in some very large projects, it is very likely that MB have requested a commercial due diligence, which would include a balance sheet. If they are to absorb a new item into their supply chain they need stability and they wouldn't risk integrating something that then needs to be backed out (huge $$ and potential reputational risk). The optimist in me says they are in advanced discussions, maybe even imminent, hence the timing...must tick the boxes.
