I think what management has failed to inform the market on the EV battery landscape.
There are a number of manufacturers around the world who supply the batteries used in Electric Vehicles (EVs).
In 2022,the top five manufacturers control more than 80 per cent of the battery market.
All EV makers have contracts already in place with EV battery makers.
This means changes are slow or can only happen after the contracts expire when dealing with EV Makers..
This being the case chasing EV makers might be the wrong door to knock on, instead the EV battery makers themselves.
Telsa is in the process of setting up a Giga factory in USA to make its own batteries in house.
