a pessimist in a spec stock doesn't make sense

Everytime I enter a position in a speculative stock I remain, in your words 'pessimistic'.

So why make an entry? Well regardless of my sentiment it's really about the risk/ reward factor that makes the difference, not my sentiment. Pessimism leads to a level of caution, and being circumspect is not a bad thing when dealing with speculative stocks.

Being pessimistic, although I would prefer to call it realistic (about chances of success) filters out all those noisy optimists that think we can get to dollar values, today, without corresponding sales and revenue, something like running a car on an oily rag - ain't gonna happen!

Finally being a realist does prepare you well for an ultimate failure, happens all the time. HC is littered with hyperbolic posts of companies that should have made it big but ultimately didn't.

I'll always err with caution no matter how brilliant the product is, how great the mgt is, how many thumbs up it gets etc etc. it doesn't take much to unravel a spec. stock.

Why did I hold ADO, with trepidation (or pessimism), because the potential profit by far outweighs the potential pessimism of a loss - doesn't mean I'm optimistic though!
