Talking of mergers eg NAG, Golden Camel & SXG.

Making a realistic assessment of the market cap of each entity is the key, not the SP, because the SP doesn't take into account the number of shares among other things. Assessing the 'real value' is difficult because it is not objective & each entity will want the "true value" based on their assessment of 'potential'. Also GC does not have an SP or a share register, so as a private company it does not currently have a Market Cap.

But, the value of merged entity would imo be much greater than the sum of the value of the individual parts eg 2+3+1 could equal 10. So the combined current market cap could be say $200m (including GC with an assessed equivalent) but a united combined entity may have a market cap of $500m (2.5 X bigger.)

The other issue is that of egos & leadership roles. Obviously there would not be as many roles & some shedding would occur, saving a lot in Costs, but some would pay a price & only the best would hold their jobs. Retirements & voluntary stand downs may help rationalise those decisions.

If they could agree on Valuations & on 'Roles' I think shareholder value would be greatly increased by a combined entity with more money, more resources & a much better & more complete business model.

All of which are dependent on a mature approach from leadership, good communications & putting shareholder interests above self, which is what management is meant to do (or at least a pretense of such.)
