Almost all exploration companies on the ASX trade cum capital raising. The issue is the manner in a company raises new capital. If you are going to raise at a big discount then it is prudent to offer this as an entitlement to your own shareholders first and have the broker act as an underwriter or manager to place any shortfall.

AZY is uniquely placed when compared to most explorers and has good prospects of becoming a miner with ongoing success. If a placement was determined to be the best option because of the "exceptional demand", then they should have used their enviable position to negotiate better terms with the brokers (including those already involved and the many others that have been active in the stock).
