What is this acquisition of sole rights to operational control of a 733km2 tenement package containing the Tetris, Pacman and Pixel targets. costing AZY? There has been NO drilling on these!
My reading is: in return Newcrest will be entitled to a 1.5% net smelter royalty (NSR). There doesn't appear any detriment to cash or share dilution.
How much this is due to NCM deeming these tenements not worth it OR the action being forced on them as house keeping to fight of takeover is the question.
Going on the timing of the transaction my view is that AZY is getting a bonus (maybe worth nothing, maybe a lot) from a predicament that Newcrest finds itself in.
Not water to wine but hardly worthy of a Goebbels Award.
