@arsenic this guy has some very objective insights about China (Gavekal Capital) as he's an EM guy and one of the few that understands what's happening there as opposed to just "their real estate market is crashing" narrative that suits uninformed western media. It's been crashing for the last decade FFS according to our media. Louis Gave has some excellent insights what's actually been happening there the last 5 years.
It was no coincidence that China cut and stimulated straight after the Fed cut 50bps. I was saying to colleagues there are no coincidences and it's coming out now across a few insightful channels.
China is devaluing their currency against GOLD (not the USD anymore) and the fact their currency went up means they are repatriating foreign owned assets and it;s all part of the larger capital flows as the world shifts from recycling petrodollars to recycling physical gold.
The other interesting note in the below piece is at 23 minutes the commodities this time not Iron Ore like last time, more so Cu as it is also a FINANCIAL METAL. Banks lend against Cu. When China stimulates, Copper is a great place to start. The China reflation trade is on and as the DXY gets devalued for national security interests in the US it's a boom for EMs and Commodities fare well.
