A number of reports have come out of Syria about Israeli fighters flying deep into East Syria to launch an attack at least two / three days ago. Other reports say that the target was Iranian munitions headed West to suplly Hezbullah.

Other non related reports indicate that the U.S. mission in Iraq is now shifting its focus to the Iraqi border areas in the East that adjoin Iran. Bases and units are being moved to interdict and destroy weapons and fighters coming in from Iran. Al Qaeda has been so smashed up that it has been forced out into sparsely populated areas where they can be easily picked off. These areas abut Iran which may become their safe haven. There are already earlier reports of firefights and shelling instigated by the Iranians. IMHO there is more cross border stuff going on and it is clearly reflected in both the gold and oil price.
