Without bothering to check any figures, you do realise that all banks booked large Covid-19 provisions in the March quarter which reduced reported profits substantially!
Your figures obviously presumes the large March provisioning will be repeated in the second half?
With the current situation, particularly in Vic, it is reasonable to expect B&DD provisions to continue at above normal levels for a while yet, however the market (notwithstanding reaction or over reaction either way to any news) will obviously consider actual trading performance and at least have some eye on future "normal" trading expectations.
(Also no reason a company can't trade at a higher PE particularly if due to short term events affecting historical trading!!)
