Bridget Carter writes online in 'The Australian':"Japan’s largest bank MUFG has emerged as the lender that has offloaded its debt in Basslink to gas pipeline owner APA Group.
APA announced in a statement on Monday that it had purchased debt in Basslink with a face value of $99m.
DataRoom understands that the loans were purchased for around 95c in the dollar.
APA said in its statement that the acquisition of the debt interest in Basslink provides APA with the opportunity to work with the receivers and managers to put the undersea cable on sustainable footing...
...The talk around the market is that APA has now put its pens down when it comes to working on an AusNet acquisition for now..."
