I am in inner Melbourne and have found in the past that mailed documents via Australia Post arrive as little as one or two business days later, because it appears the paperwork was printed and given to the mailing house (probably) a day or even two before the official announcement.

If using the mail, buy a Priority Post mailing envelope: this reliably gets to the handling registry within a couple of business days. At present,. Registered Mail is very, very slow: despite paying a premium, 'ordinary' mail is much faster.
