I believe the cashless exercise facility allows employees to exercise without paying with the resultant shares then sold on market and the exercise price being deducted from the proceeds. Though I am happy to be corrected on this. I also believe this cashless exercise facility was only available to regular non managerial employees. Though once again, i am happy to be corrected.
