Hi everyone, Id like to raise a discussion here, please make comment.
We have 67,960,000 shares in the market currently, we have got a small registry.
Both ARL and GRL have very small registries, I like it this way because the smaller the registry the greater the profitability of each share considering that the company is valued properly.
I look to companies registries first when I do due diligence with the intentions of investing. If I see runaway registries I literally run away and am gone for the hills.
Here's the question.
When you have a small tight registry with a high commitment by management and that commitment is in real $ dollars.
The company generally does not have a very high liquidity, this poses potential problems (maybe)
Negatives
Low liquidity could be a reason to not invest especially when trading.
Traders want volatility, do we want this.
Lower volatility results in less hype, shareholders possibly get a feeling of being orphaned by the market.
Positives
Tight registry is positive resulting in stability.
High ownership by the board in real invested $ terms is positive as they do not want to dilute themselves into oblivion.
Not having a high liquidity stock encourages investment with longer term positions with less volatility as a result.
Lower volatility results in less hype, do we want more.
The company is valued on its real value, compared to inflated hype value.
The company (GRL) was established with a tight capital structure, a solid share price and low number of shares. this has the effect of being un-attractive to the rabble seen in hyped penny stocks with out of control registries and funds mismanagement, followed by incessant capital raises. (Pardon me for saying this)
Unsure about
Do we want more liquidity and more hype.
Do we believe that a small registry is the best registry, and at what point is the registry too small. At what point is the registry too big.
At what point is a registry just right, I suppose this is dependent on the age and maturity of the company including where it is in the life-cycle towards productivity. Thoughts ?.
Does a small registry impede the growth of a stock, yes or no.
I have been asking myself these questions for some time, I am at times conflicted on this.
I look forward to intelligently group discussing this with you.
