Gap fills are no different to trendlines, support lines, resistance lines, head and shoulders patterns, elliot waves, time cycles, rsi indicators, etc ... you can choose to use these or not. If you're fully invested you won't care about a gap fill. If you're looking to buy, what do people often do? They look at the historical chart.
