You make valid points.. pocock probably was pushed, and that would explain why our trading patterns right now, have a little buying in the morning bringing the price up, then later in the day selling occurs, and the sp drops, by the broker data Morrison broking, who apparently handles all Mac sales at the moment, has dropped almost 1 mil shares in the last few months.
So if that’s pocock selling and he owns 6mil. And no sub holder notice has been issued, it means he has exercised, and kept numbers stable.
A big possibility is that if he was pushed out of his roll, then spiteful selling could happen. It could be happening now..
If, as you say, Mac still have a large influence and hold lots, then that still may have an influence on sp over the next few months also.
Back to your original spiel about option holders and not being traded, etc. you are probably right, that perhaps options shouldn’t be traded, but they are, and the company set those up to be traded. Geoff Ward didn’t set those up either, not his fault..
What is his fault that the road shows before hand put on before his arrival spouted a series of announcements that would have helped sp head lots further north. Geoff Ward stepped into the roll and changed the whole design and structure of announcements to market.
Now let’s put that into perspective. Let’s say labour win the next election, and decide that negative gearing is no longer viable and change it right there and then. Do you think that all those property investors would just roll over and think, the government knows what they are doing, especially when they all try and sell as their investment properties are now costing them money and not as profitable as holding cash.
That then smashes the property price..
Now, replace property with option price and you can understand option holder frustration.
By your words inductor (from memory from the agm) all hazer crew will do their best to get the options well in the money. As I heard at all of my interactions with hazer staff.
From that point of view, your empathy does nothing except infuriate.
I have come to terms with my loss, and am not bitter any more. But I am deciding weather to exercise some, or even buy back in.
My previous posts have outlined my concern about lack of short term sp movement and then further issues for sp growth with the current design of business model. From that point of view, I won’t be buying back in, and will be investing elsewhere.
I don’t want to take away from the brilliance of the design of this tech. It works and can change the world, just not fast enough for me. Gains to be made elsewhere and I am sick of losing money on this one. Down well over 50k all because of management decisions. (Pocock/options).
