This is HZR's current statement: "Hazer produces synthetic graphite of 99% purity under non-optimised conditions. Initial non-optimised Hazer graphite characteristics show excellent characterisation comparison to high-end commercial forms of graphite such as synthetic spherical graphite used in lithium-ion batteries. Hazer plans to implement a development and testing roadmap that initially focuses on the lithium- ion battery market for its high-grade synthetic graphite."

Syrah's own resources indicate that it achieves purity grades of 99.95% only AFTER purification. Many other graphite producers that I've come across list their initial purity pre-purification at or around 99% (or even less) before addressing the battery market as an end use application.

We also know from Geoff that the HZR process uses less HF acid in the purification process. The other cost and material advantages have already been well canvassed.

The statement is clear for me, and is a good start. That is where we are. Importantly, nothing I've heard so far particularly worries me with regards to major limitations on end use applications, but I'll be keeping a close eye out. Perhaps a question to Geoff at the next presser?
