    "Am I being stupidly optimistic by holding?" Be very careful when asking for advise on forums, the problem becomes, who to believe? No matter which side of the fence they are sitting on.
    Personally, I don't think there has been a catastrophe as such. Also, in general beware of cleverly worded anns. or advertising. Read everything 5 times.
