From talking with a few company managers and directors online share forums are, how to put it politely, loathed!! Mentioning you are a contributor to such a forum destroyed your chances of a reply, imo.
Regarding point 2 of your email may I suggest it's a lot quicker, easier and cheaper to do it as they did. Maybe the ASX enquiry regarding their cash position spooked them a bit as you would think waiting for some assays could have benefitted the placement price.
I don't hold yet but plan to grab a few of the placement shares near the issue price if possible.
