You know, I am not trying to speculate on this one because I don't know who owns them, nor what they know or do not know. But it's either take the loss, or, if someone thought they were going to be worth more then .10, before they expired, then it would be a good investment, especially if they already owned these shares at .10 before they went down.
It would hardly be more intelligent to sell your .10 shares at a loss, to buy in at .3 to .4, and then convert the options. Brokers fees and all...and all.
Basically, unless you are mocking yourself, you have no idea of the intentions nor the knowledge of who made this transaction are...
