90% of the air pollution in China's cities is from private vehicle so it shouldn't surprise anyone that their plans are so massive, considering how the Chinese approach all infrastructure projects.
The discussion about how the competition between US and Chinese might play out isn't what's important - what's important is how the price for the metal will be driven up by the Chinese.
Yep - its everywhere - and the best resources will need to be paired with the most adv tech and reliable manufacturing processes. Musk won't miss the chance to supply the US, and 'US Made' always sells better there. The two biggest trading conglomerates will be screaming for this resource for the next 20+ years. Exciting times ahead.
