The Mole's quoted comment could be spot-on.
Add to this intrigue the comments made by cantona (30/9) 'strong whispers that it was SFR that took the placement at 8c' and bmloho (5/10) in reply 'I heard it wasn't, even though SFR have used JP Morgan in the past. It was a suspicion definitely.'
The plot thickens!
Then add this. My info is that Andrew Frazer of Somers is close to Karl Simich of SFR.
Possible conclusion; it was SFR but either AUR's BoD rejected it as a holder or SFR pulled out because of something and Somers had no replacement.
Remember this piece of info too from 20/9, 2 days before AUROA conversion closed: 'The Underwriting was supported by existing shareholders of Auris and institutional investors and completed at a premium to recent trading prices in Auris.'
It's not as dramatic as the Fund X fiasco, but the underwriting and its story as it unfolded certainly has a dark side. I think that the Fund X matter was a scam; and one that nearly ended up with a meeting of certain people in Dubai.
