Death Spiral
One of the signs of the death spiral many moons ago was when the ASX pointed the bone; a more recent example is when Hot Copper turned to Cold Water with the thread heading:
have they had their licences cancelled?
This, in my opinion, was a signal that the game was up and that it was time to quietly depart.
