A think to keep in mind here is that in all practicality should the firm not be successful these shares and for that matter all their shares are essentially worthless as they can never sell them and re coup any value. Therefore despite the fact that they exercised the options to get something out of what will soon lapse and be worthless there is no conflict of interest as what they have now are more of the same shares, only able to deliver value should a discovery be made. By looking at the register one can easily work out that the Co is working hard to make a discovery for themselves and the rest of us will be beneficiaries of their hard work. Onward to discovery!!!
