The share price does lie it may generally be about right, but it does lie. If it didn't lie investors like Warren Buffet would not have being able to make so much money because share price would not have being so low. Your premise sounds like those who believe in the Efficient market hypothesis.

As to point 2 of yours your correct. Point 1 if something happened to the bank funds they would have announced that to the ASX as part of disclosure requirements
