Operationally, S32 has had a good year. It's all about commodity prices. Our world peers are in the same boat. It has nothing to do with GK's divorce or the wretched short sellers, unfortunately. I'm down about 15%. I'd rather not be. Then again, I see a buying opportunity, not a selling opportunity. There will be months and years where it's a great opportunity to sell. December 2023 is not one of them.

Other world top 50 diversified miners and base metals miners' share prices have performed accordingly. There are great years, and poor years. This year has been a poor year. It happens. It's the cycle. Selling, and trying to buy back lower is tempting but it's not a game I usually win.

BHP has been lucky (for want of a better word) because so much of its revenue comes from iron ore, which is supposed to be languishing at $80 a tonne! Lithium has struggled. Uranium has had a good year. Everything else is struggling.

As Rick Rule says, in commodities you're either a contrarian or you're a victim".
