As an ASX investor and a 45 year TAB account holder up until last week when I closed my account or at least it’s pending I’m here to tell all that I wouldn’t purchase a share of this company for 8c. In the last three months i have put on a few live bets and the average outcome of the correct bet being placed is at about 20%, not joking. The final straw the other day to place a live bet for those that don’t know has to be done by phone speaking to an operator and can’t be done on an app or iPad, after having my account settings changed from allowing the price quoted prior to the bet being placed to the obscene scenario that within a couple of seconds the selected bet can change for example from $5.50 to $3.80 in an instant, I requested that anything that was quoted has to be what I have my bet placed at and was told you just need to speak to customer service and this would be done, 4 times have had the same argument and every time a week later they change it back again. Anyway this week I deposited $50 from my nominated account to place a bet on the Seattle v Minnesota game in play, on my iPad the bet number was 744421 being Seattle to win by 1-6 points at $5.50, I double checked that this price would be what I got and the operator told my settings were not in place AGAIN and would need to speak to customer service operator but they had not clocked on for the day yet so I said ok place the bet said the bet number again got quoted the price at $5.50 Seattle 1-6 and so that’s twice I have checked her and low and behold wait for it she comes back with bet placed $50 on Minnesota 13+ FMD and then had the hide to tell me she quoted me that bet FML. So I blow up want to talk to a betting manager after she tells me the bet can’t be cancelled now once it’s placed and wanting me to just go away put me on hold for 30 minutes , fair dinkum in which time the bet I originally wanted had gone from $5.50 to $3.40 so I knew from past dealings I wouldn’t be getting on that at the old price . Operator tells me to hang up and gets the betting manager to ring me straight back and confirms that I had done exactly as I have said only to be told that I couldn’t get my account closed today and ALSO couldn’t withdraw my $50 because I hadn’t turned it over yet, in normal circumstances I’m ok with that but not on this occasion with the competence that had been proven to be diabolical and then he replied that my account couldn’t be closed because there was a 7 leg multi that hadn’t been finalised albeit my 4th leg being lost so was never going to get a collect and the last couple of legs being played on Sunday and only then could he close my account and refund my $50.
Would also like to share with the public and those that are unaware that they show false odds especially place odds at night dogs and trots that in the final couple of minutes can be at as an example showing $8 for the place at time of close to nowhere near those odds at dividend time mostly changing whilst the race is being run , would love ASIC to investigate this being a clear cut strategy to entice punters to lay bets thinking they were going to be picking up bargain over the odds prices and inflating their pools/ take outs . I know the prices are based on differentials % on what have the most wagering on them and win / place , quinellas,exactas etc all have different take outs for the TAB that can be 20-30% or whatever and the remaining equation determines the dividends but odds displayed before the jump and leading up to are false. So enjoyed having a punt and will eventually go with Pointsbet or some other yet to be determined but after 45 years and being treated with such an unprofessional way leaves a very distasteful feeling and I think they are a disgrace.

Of course live betting odds change and you haven’t legally been able to place a live bet in Australia without calling for years. Get that you are worked up but that was a pretty dramatic novel.
