No one knows the motivation of the buyer or seller unless you talk to them...can be many reasons...he(Gillies) has so many..does he need more??There is a lot of fun and games going on behind the scenes...lots of layers...will always be the case where money is concerned.For example... the main senario... the current price of the share is 5.2 cents...the issue price...if that price can be kept where it is,the current shareholders may not see the worth of taking up their entitlements...may even think the company is going under...the broker gets the under subscription and distributes it to his clients or the favoured few.Unbeknown to some shareholders,but only known to well to the broker, the broker could have investors of his own, turning summer saults to get these shares.A new class of investor hits the register absolutely delighted at their luck at getting the shares at 5.2 cents but with only commitments to make money unlike the current shareholders that have been with the company a long while....you will find these shares go up after the issue is closed...why... because the broker has his own clients in there and...and so it is an attractive proposition ...the reason he took it on in the first place
IMHO you all should take the issue up if you are in a position to do it
