Some European mills and alloy producers are increasingly reluctant to quote forward business. “While future power prices are a consideration,” one supplier noted, “we are more afraid we won’t have the energy to produce regardless of the energy price.”
Activity comes to naught in European bulk alloy market

The traditional summer lull has started in the European Mn and Si alloys market. However, market players are pessimistic about further developments, especially those after the vacation season, amid the ongoing increase in electricity tariffs and the unfavourable situation in the consuming segments.
