Hi Wot - well even though I can sort of see that point of view sometimes getting an opinion from someone else outside your organisation is a great benefit. It stops you working in an echo chamber and thinking you must be correct in your thinking.
I was working with a big company in WA and one of the head honchos said to me "Spockie - you have a seat at the table because you tell us all when we are being dicks."
Sometimes your value is as simple as that, and you can provide focus and clarity.
