Our long term competitor in the HPA ,space FYI, yesterday announced they are going into a JV with ARU (Arafura) to mine mineral sands for Rare earths HREE.
I worked in the mineral sands industry, ending up a senior metallurgist. I'm not sure what learnings (from HPA) FYI intend to "leverage". Maybe project management and capital raising. They do have a separate type of hydrometallurgy* in their process but the hydrometallurgy for the breakdown of the Xenotime and monazite will be done by Arafura in it's plant.
I suspect unless they're very careful wit the relative sizes of the two co.'s and ned for capital . FYI will get taken over by ARU. They already have danger of Alcoa doing that. ATC has done a much better job of preserving their 'integrity'.
In any even though I've been (very) loyal to ATC it looks like I'm being pitched into a foot in both camps. YGT - You Get That!

* more accurately Solvent extraction (SX) with organic solvent. Not sure how much hydro or water is involved.
