I see it as the directors wanted to merely send a message to shareholders that all was well despite the price hammering it was receiving. They were coming under fire as an institution they had given shares to were now dumping the stock . They were feeling probably embarrassed and therefore what better way to say hey shareholders all is good and we will tell you so by buying shares - we all know they didn't need to top up but boy does it send a great message to the shareholders. Helps restore the sentiment that had taken a hit in the eyes of some shareholders ( not mine )
