"History shows" that when several marketplaces compete, often the weakest ones languish and die, or retreat into niches. We don't have to get abstract about this - it's interesting how if you overlay the rise of FVRR from pretty much nowhere, it's period of rapid growth coincides with the end of FLN's hyper-growth period in 2016.
I think some of the recent signs for FLN are quite positive, but your daily post about how well UPWK/FVRR is doing is a little plaintive. I wonder whether there was some Borders holder insisting that the rise of Amazon meant good things for Borders and other online booksellers back in the 90s ("any day now").
