All fair points however, they did not state "the cessation of the dividend", they just skipped the last one.
Others have correctly made the point that the cash has not gone anywhere. It'd actually be earning interest one would hope.
If they make a purchase, that increases the size of the company, if they can do that with cash, which they now have a fair bit of, then no debt and a return to dividends from a larger company.
Add to that the possible inclusion in an index or two in September and you are looking at a company with a PE of around 5 and returning to previous dividends, a yield of what? 12%? Surely that is not only a mandatory buy for index funds/etfs but also any long term investor?
I would like to see the SP stop the rot asap though. Topped up again today looking at oversold signals on the RSI, MACD along with support levels holding.
Further degradation is not going to look, let alone feel good.
