Looking at ebay's Q3 results, they've followed up the work done on Authenticity Guarantee for watches and done it for sneakers as well over $100. Definitely think that and general expensive jewellery is an opportunity for us.
Since we're only looking at the US category expansion, YTD Q3 Gross Merchandise Volume is $27.9b in the US and we haven't even gotten to the Q4 X'mas period yet. Let's say Gross Merchandise Volume for Q4 is at the same level as Q3 (July - Sept), which is $9.8b. Even if Escrow captured 10% of that GMV from eBay Motors and Watches and we got 1% of that 10%, we'd still get close to $10m in Escrow revenue for Q4. Understandably, there is a 2 week soft launch happening with the watches segment and we'd really only capture 2 months worth of Escrow revenue from watches, the prospects for growth from escrow is massive considering revenue for the whole of last year was at a measly $7-$8m. We should be cheering for eBay's success seeing as it also means we'll succeed with the more categories we are imbedded in.
