One of the hardest things in business is getting people to accept change. Unless you have your back against the wall (ie about to go broke) then people do not wish to take on innovation (read change) unless there is a significant financial benefit to them. Otherwise why rock the boat, "only got five/ten years to go for retirement" I can only imagine that the optometry business must be one of the most conservative groups, alongside railway and aircraft engineers. Could "things" be done differently? Ohh yea of course, but now we are using management's best tool; hindsight. While the major investors hang in, so will I. The results at the end of February should be of interest. IMO JMT
