After a bit of thought bought a modest position in this stock based on the takeover bids on Huon and it being a sector of interest. Hoping the management improve the plans for growth to take advantage of the opportunity in the sector.
Looks like they are in a grow or go phase - and need to demonstrate progress post the recent capital raising on the Oslo / ASX stock exchange. Looking through the announcements they seem very focused on the single product and without a big hairy audacious goal - the type of goal that if you even get half way to achieving it your doing great as a business. Something more than growing the base kingfish business like leveraging partnerships with Norwegians further to enter the salmon farming business. There is some serious money in Norway behind fisheries.
I see in the announcements that there was a bit of a board reshuffle and CEO retirement last year; hopefully we will see the new management stamp their vision for growth on the company soon. Although there were some attractive production targets - it would be nice to see the strategy and actions in place to deliver the targets.
Anyone with any insights on the appetite for the management to take a risk and grow the company - would be interesting to understand this before taking a more material position.
