Hi longreach,
I’ve never communicated directly with Ross so perhaps you could follow up your email with another asking:
• 1) "In the meantime we are accelerating our program to design the next batch of applications, with a priority on those that don’t require OEM approval!"
- In respect of Ross comment re ‘acceleration’; Has he put any expectations on how long until these apps are ready for market, and on what the demand might be?
Also how many of these apps are aircraft-specific and how many relate to on-land (or sea?) applications?- Specifically has any further work been done towards developing an application that is competitive in regards measuring cracks on bridges or mines?*
*in relation to bridges; NB Henry Kroker {the engineer who also moved to Kelowna for SMN but left in May 2020 ) “The [CVM] sensors provide a ‘green-light, red-light’ method for constantly surveying critical components,” says Henry Kroker, a Structural Monitoring Systems engineer who played a key role in the bridge monitoring project. “In many years of trial and permanent use in the aviation and now civil industries, these sensors have not produced any false calls.” Henry was thus quoted, in April 2020 along with David Roach here: https://www.materialsperformance.co...structural-health-monitoring-to-detect-cracks … However he left AEM in May 2020.
Given his key role in the bridge monitoring project, if bridges are still on the agenda, has Ross been in touch with Henry (who, FWIW, according to his linkedin profile, was was given an award in 2014 for developing the First Commercial Aviation Application of Structural Health Monitoring).
• 2) If the APB app still does not have FAA approval why is Delta allowed to continue rolling out its’ instalment program?
- If it is allowed to bypass regulatory approval can other airlines also do this ?cheers
PS - if you are willing to act S a go between maybe others have questions to add ?
cheers
