some dot points.
- Boeing is doing this testing and once completed it will develop a Service Bulletin for submission to the FAA for their approval
- The FAA will almost certainly approve the SB given that they have already approved use of CVM within the wifi dome.
- if Boeing decide they don't like CVM and therefore don't develop the SB then SMN in association with Delta are very likely to go to the FAA on their own for the issue of an Alternative Means of Compliance AMOC. This application would have 20 plus aircraft with CVM installation for more than two years giving them a wealth of experience to support the application. FAA again unlikely to reject based on their previous wifi approvals
- With this micro fault finding Boeing are so hung up on one has to wonder about the approved eddy current testing. How fine a crack can it find? And then when it does find a very fine crack do they in fact defer maintenance till next time when it may be bigger and thus warrant maintenance.
- Boeing obviously with all their equipment failures now in a total bog about what to do. Even with an improvement in offering more safety.
