With this micro fault finding Boeing are so hung up on one has to wonder about the approved eddy current testing. How fine a crack can it find? And then when it does find a very fine crack do they in fact defer maintenance till next time when it may be bigger and thus warrant maintenance.

Boeing obviously with all their equipment failures now in a total bog about what to do. Even with an improvement in offering more safety.

It would be useful to know if this is definitely on the horizon as an ‘option 2’ and if so how long the AMOC would take .
