Having seen some solid discussion on the state of the Hazer IP and ongoing patent process I thought a few might find last nights announcement by RHY interesting, RHY have been granted a EU patent for their bio-marker tech which detects certain cancers. While the field is completely irrelevant to HZR the process is relevant.
RHY submitted their PCT in 2013 with the preliminary report stating that none of their 31 claims were either novel or inventive. In 2015 a second report found that 26 claims were novel and in 2016 28 claims.
Yesterday the European national phase patent was granted.
With HZR currently going through the process those interested may find this to be a useful reference. We should expect to see similar progress in the coming years from Hazer's IP suite. Not all claims will be granted obviously but in reality very few are actually required to secure the steps that differentiate those who cannot from those who can.
