Statistically 7 or 8 patients should have passed away by now. This isn't intended to be a cure but a delay. It appears at the high dose that MPL is effective at delaying ALS/MND significantly in most people.
Looking at the data of cohort 2 (high dose), the mean score dropped by 5.8 over an 8 month period. One patient has dropped by at least 22 points which means the remaining 5 patients have dropped by 2.56 points over 8 months on average or 0.32 points per month. That is a significant increase in life expectancy.
