In 2013 even though the number of stores increased in Nov & Dec the sales dropped significantly, therefore I think you are correct in stating that winter is not good for sales.
Sales in 2014 were slightly disappointing and that is probably why VMT stopped opening up new stores. They are cash flow positive and with higher margins and hopefully with continued yr on yr growth, 2016 will see profit improve.
