All fair points, if I am right that means we all make money, If I am wrong I loose money and you have lost nothing.
Except that if you are right, and we both end up making money, I get to make less money than you. That's the price I pay for having my capital protected.
As for my support of sports teams, where I grew up only rugby league was on offer (that should pass your test for my blue collar bona fides). I used to follow the Newcastle Knights as a younger man, but now that I'm more "mature", my interest in following sport has gentrified a bit, and now I am more partial to watching tennis and golf.
