The quote you have posted I feel does not apply to this scenario. This is the spec end of the market, research how many companies at this stage have 'made it'. Look at how many people believed in the product, management etc of the companies that didn't deliver. I really hope IAM recovers, it has much work to do.
For what its worth some of my lessons in spec stocks.
Risk management.
Cut losses early.
Don't average down.
Leave emotions at the pub.
Ignore noise.
Losing positions, next investment, never dwell.
SOI. The more on issue the more hurdles.
Fundamentals.
Support, resistance, volume.
MC not SP. Look at peers.
Ideally buy from base, never chase.
Hundreds of up and coming listings offer riches, few deliver in the long term.
I don't write this with intention to argue. I write this as a relatively inexperienced spec investor that has been burnt in the past.
Lessons I learnt shared, nothing more.
