Purely speculative but here is my opinion:

i) SNTech were burnt by the fact that we went with GPI, effectively cutting them out of the market. f* it though, they had more than enough opportunity to make a move, but they didn't.

ii) SNTech might be claiming our tech is a small part of their product and hence our share of the revenue isn't enough

iii) SNTech might be claiming our tech is no longer part of the product, having replaced it with some other tech ( the image in the article is just a generic one, I wouldn't take that as indicative that SNTech are using standard biometrics)

I believe the audit of their code base is to most likely

a) prove our tech is in the system

b) prove their product is useless without our technology

I think its fairly straight forward what is happening, SNTech want a bigger slice of the pie. Lockport represents the first in a potentially MASSIVE uptake of this product - the new 'standard' for security in schools. This transaction sets the precedence for all future transactions and as such is under massive scrutiny by all parties involved.
