    Hi Adent,

I agree, fantastic benefits when our economy only needs to account for 25million people even though we are the sixth largest country. Please don't use 'we have vast amounts of deserts and inhospitable lands'... Canada for example, despite having the 2nd largest landmass, has a landmass that is sparsely used due to inhospitable terrain/climate, with most of its population south of the 55th parallel north and they have a population of 37million...

    I'll put it this way:
Australia exported $243B and imported $199B in 2017.
The top nations we exported to were China ($85B), South Korea ($18B), India ($14.4B) and Hong Kong ($14.2B). The top exports were iron ore ($48.2B), coal briquettes ($47B), Gold ($29.1B), and Petroleum Gas ($20.3B).

Our top import nations in 2017 were China ($47B), United States ($20.5B), South Korea ($18.7B), Japan ($16.3B) and Thailand ($10.68B).
Our top imports were cars ($18.1B), refined petroleum ($14.4B), Special Purpose Ships ($9B), Broadcasting Equipment ($7.22B) and Delivery Trucks ($6.8B).

    Car manufacturing is heavily automized.
Petroleum is refined at processing plants.
Special Purpose Ships are for the most part, manufactured robotically.
Broadcasting equipment (see my original post for corporations moving manufacturing locations)...

Don't bite the hand that feeds you mate.
